When you’ve had a tough day, or a boring day and just need to recharge and relax, it’s the little things that make all the difference. The best thing is to do things you enjoy or love doing! Sometimes it’s as simple as relaxing and really savouring that delicious cup of coffee, even just for 10 mins, or taking a stroll around the garden, or playing peek a boo with your baby.
We all have hobbies and interests, but sometimes we are left with hardly any time for them in everyday living. But if we are not people who enjoy the constant hustle and bustle of life all the time, we can burn out. Here are a few things I enjoy doing that don’t take very long:
- Drinking that cup of coffee or hot chocolate
- Wearing crazy socks (bright with cute pictures, love them)!
- Eating a chocolate
- Standing on the balcony looking at the mountain (I live in Cape Town, South Africa, home of Table Mountain)
- Looking at cute and funny animal memes
There are so many more things that you can do that only take a few minutes. For those times where you have a little more free time, taking that bubble bath, or going for a long walk is great. I also like painting my nails in colours that are not considered normal, thankfully I have a job that allows for this during the week!
Basically, just do what you love! Spend time with friends and family, have picnics, read awesome books, go dancing, whatever. Just make sure you have awesome little things you can do to enrich your life, take time out, and make life more enjoyable. Life is meant for living after all, not merely surviving 🙂
